The Lego Jar (9/7/12) – They keep growing

This week we started to get back to “normal.”  Summer has been a whirlwind with ministry, fishing, projects and swimming lessons.  That being said, it is really great to get back into the fall routine again.  This week’s Lego Jar highlights how big my kids are getting.

This year we have two children in school.  This is both awesome and sad at the same time.  Our oldest has started 3rd grade and our second child is now in Kindergarten.  He was so excited to go.  In fact, Wednesday morning both the boys were up early and ready to go out the door long before it was time.   Then he was ready to go the next day.  He even made friends.  He just couldn’t remember any names.

Other then the exhaustion that we have all felt, it has been a good start to the school year.  Our 5-year-old is doing the best he can to figure out how things work at school.  He told me that he needs to sit with pretzel legs and his hands folded.  He has a lot that he is learning already.  His innocence cracks me up.   He said that his teacher took the things out of his backpack without asking!  Of course they were things he was supposed to give her, so it was fine.

Speaking of growing up and being random, while on our trip we also had an opportunity to ride a tractor.  My oldest son got to drive since he was tall enough.  He was so excited and was telling me how many different tractors he wanted to drive.  Our entire drive back he was pointing out tractors he now could drive with ease.

The other boys took their turn sitting on the tractor, but they did not get to drive it.

Lastly, as I think about football starting this weekend, I recall our recent trip Lambeau Field.  For those that appreciate history, there is a ton of it to be experience at Lambeau Field.  The highlight for me, however, was the tour and being able to walk out the tunnel with my boys.  It was a lot of fun!

Well, that is all for now.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend free of drama and full of people you love.
